About Yuliya

Yuliya was born in Kiev, Ukraine. She grew up in San Francisco and began performing musical theater, singing, dancing, figure skating, and modeling at the age of 7. Being immersed in such a vibrant and artistic city helped shape her passion for the arts. She continued performing in musical theater shows, various choirs, vocal jazz recitals, dance troupes, and plays.

Throughout her education in San Jose State University, Yuliya trained with the school's resident musical theater troupe Company One, led by Janie Scott. Her training furthered at Roehampton University, where she spent a year abroad in the United Kingdom studying ethnomusicology, dance education, and classical/contemporary theater.

Since graduating with a BA in Musical Theater and Dance, her other projects have consisted of singing with jazz big bands for the San Jose Jazz festival, teaching and performing various genres of Latin ballroom (Salsa, Bachata, Cha-cha, etc.), and teaching teens and adults with disabilities for non-profit dance organizations.
She's currently a vocalist and percussionist for the band Echo Street, performing as a primary Dancer/ Dancer Swing for Latin Movement/ Singer Swing for California's Great America, and is training in Axis Dance Company's Summer Intensive.

From: Man of La Mancha - Fermina

“The flamenco dancing by Fermina (Yuliya Eydelnant) was outstanding.”

"As the gypsy dancer, Eydelnant gives a wonderful display of belly dancing.”

Tony Lacy-Thompson for The Mercury News

"And ... hats off to the band. Scott MacDiarmid and Tony Frye on guitars, Tyler Harlow on bass, Emily Chiet on violin, cast member Yuliya Eydelnant on hand claps (and starring in a fine bit of flamenco dancing) and Leon on euphonium."

            John Orr for Regarding Arts

From: West Side Story - Rosalia

"Yuliya Eydelnant is also terrific as she insistently trills that Puerto Rico is much better than the "America" being flaunted at her by teasing friends. In both "America" and "I Feel Pretty," the Shark girls as an ensemble deliver with precision of notes, bantering fun, and saucy moves."

           Eddie Reynolds for Talkin’ Broadway
